Catholic Youth Pilgrimage in Reparation for Abortion

Hello! My name is Joseph Dunlap, and I am a young Catholic volunteer living in southern
Pennsylvania.
As you know, the infamous Roe v. Wade decision was finally overturned last year. Thank God!
However, we both know that the fight for life is far from over. Abortion is still legal in most
states. In some places, it is legal even up to birth!
It is true that the overturning of Roe v. Wade is a huge milestone we should celebrate. But at the
same time, we must continue making reparation for this grave sin until the murder of innocent
children becomes unthinkable. For this reason, I hope you will read this urgent appeal and
help us in our pilgrimage of reparation!

For at least three years now, ten young Catholic men (including myself) have been hoping to go on a pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where the great apostle St. James is buried. The Camino de Santiago, which translates to The Path of St. James, is a traditional pilgrimage route that Catholics have walked for centuries in reparation for the sins of the world and their own.

This year, Our Lady has given us the opportunity to make reparation for abortion in this beautiful way. We are all looking forward to this sublime pilgrimage, but certain obstacles may force
us to cancel our plane tickets and call off the trip.

We know the pilgrimage won’t be easy. We will need to walk over 160 miles through rough
terrain and climb over three mountains to reach our sacred destination. However, through prayer
and perseverance, we will make it!
As we walk, we will pray countless rosaries, sing the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
and present our petitions in Churches along the path. We hope that as a result, the defeat of
abortion will be among the many miracles that have been worked through St. James’ intercession
at Santiago.
We have been praying novenas to Our Lady of Good Success and St. James to help us make it to
Portugal and begin our pilgrimage. If we are able to make it to Santiago de Compostella, we will
offer our sufferings, sacrifices, and prayers for this most important intention. After all,
reparation is needed more now than ever before!
Indeed, we realized that now is the time to act! As a result, we have finally made the promise to
Our Lady and her Son to make this sacrifice for His greater glory and start on the day of His
great sacrifice: Good Friday.
But we don’t have the funds we need to fulfill our promise. Thankfully, we had enough
money to purchase our plane tickets, and did so before the prices rose any higher. However,
there are still many other expenses that need to be covered. For example, we need to pay for
food, lodging, hiking equipment and a rental car to take us from Madrid to Vila do Conde,
Portugal, where we will start our 160-mile journey. This is where we need your help!
With the start date less than two months away, it doesn’t look like we are going to make it… and
the price of everything in the post-covid era is constantly rising.
That’s why I’m asking you to spiritually join us in this act of reparation and help us make
it to Santiago! Whatever you can give will help us in our crusade of reparation, and you can be
sure that we will be offering many novenas and sacrifices throughout Lent for your intentions.
Our Lord is offended every day, every hour, and even every minute by abortion! We must
remember to make reparation for this sin, and we hope the Camino pilgrimage will bring some
consolation to Jesus and Mary.
Thank you for your donations and for your prayers. In turn, we will be praying for you!
St, James, Pray for Us!
