Help fund a classical academy in Knock – Ireland’s Marian Shrine

Cnoc Mhuire Classical Co-operative is a classical education academy for the Connacht region of Ireland. We provide face-to-face teaching for primary and secondary level students.
We believe that every student should join in the “Great Conversation” and every teacher should lead the quest towards the True, the Good and the Beautiful, “further up and further in”. We teach our students how to learn; we inspire them with the works and wonders of great minds; and we help them to discover and develop their own unique God-given talents.
How the school began
In 2023, several families came together with a unified vision of an alternative education for their children. They envisioned a classical education with grammar, logic and rhetoric as its focus. The families also wanted a hands-on approach with their own children, only meeting together three days a week, so they could focus on home learning for the remaining days.
Today
Cnoc Mhuire has brought together a team of dedicated teachers from across Connacht. It now provides classes adapted to the ages and interests of all our pupils, from primary through to Leaving Certificate level. Pupils work independently at home, with the active support of their parents on Mondays and Tuesdays. They come to Cnoc Mhuire on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
How you can help
The academy is currently renting premises in Mayo Abbey. It wants to provide stability to families and teachers so that it can flourish and grow in the spiritual heart of Ireland, Knock.
