Growing Pains
The Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles are a rapidly expanding monastic community in northwestern Missouri. The foundress of the order, Sister Mary Wilhelmina Lancaster, was found to be incorrupt in 2023, a phenomenon which has drawn many thousands of pilgrims to the Abbey. The Order has been blessed with tremendous growth, necessitating the building of a second, large monastery in Ava, MO, which began in 2022. And just this year, due to immigration issues, a group of Sisters had to return to Europe, and in God’s providence, set about re-establishing Benedictine life in the historic Colwich Abbey in the United Kingdom. Another group of Sisters was sent to resuscitate a closed Poor Clare monastery in Evansville, Indiana. While the many vocations and growth are a great grace, it comes at a heavy cost. The Sisters are in desperate need of $5 million in order to purchase, finish building, and refurbish these houses! Please join the Sisters in their mission of prayer and sacrifice by your prayers and financial support. Make your gift here to enable the growth and expansion of this community possible.
