In April of 2023, after being misdiagnosed with a gall bladder issue and undergone surgery, Meagan was found to have heart failure, and ended up on life support in a medically induced coma with her family unsure if she would pull through. By the grace of God, after 16 days in the hospital, she was allowed to return home. This however was not the end of hardship. Doctors were unsure of the cause of the heart failure, and deemed Meagan not strong enough to be able to return to work. Unfortunately, only 3 months later, Meagan and her partner separated after an 11 year relationship, leaving her to care for her two young daughters, alone, without any source of income. We are still waiting for the application for disability benefits to be approved and have exhausted all other supplemental income sources through local agencies.
