**UPDATE**: Thank you so much for donating to me, Fr Innocent, so that I can help the people of my parish in Madagali, northern Nigeria. We in the parish are constantly living with the great threat of more Boko Haram attacks, but we will continue worshipping and serving God regardless of what happens. Your generous donation, part of over €70,000 raised, means I can give much-needed medicine and food to the widows and orphans left behind after countless attacks, as well as drill wells for them.

Fr. Innocent Sunu is facing some of the most dangerous Islamic terrorists on earth, and he needs our help.
Every day gun shots ring around his parish of Madagali in northern Nigeria, as more innocent Christians are martyred, and more widows and orphans created for Fr. Innocent to look after.
His parish is located right beside the notorious Sambisa forest that Boko Haram launches attacks from, and where they held almost 300 schoolgirls whom they infamously kidnapped in 2014.
Fr Innocent needs our help to pay for desperately needed food and medicine for the 600 widows and 800 orphans he now supports.
Just last week his diocese lost three catechists after they were blown up by young girls forced to act as suicide bombers.
Despite all this cruelty and persecution, Fr Innocent isn’t going to abandon his people, even if it means he will be killed.
He sent us this special message from his parish in Borno state, where Boko Haram continues to create hell on earth for Christians:
I am begging Catholics around the world to stand with your brothers and sisters here in Nigeria.
We not only have Boko Haram to deal with, but the Fulani Islamists also cause havoc.
The military won’t protect us properly because most of the generals are also Fulani tribesmen, as is the president.
Every day Christians are being killed. We feel abandoned, forgotten, and desperate to find a solution.
My people run to the bush if Boko Haram comes, but some don’t get the message in time and are killed.
Hundreds of churches have been destroyed in this diocese, and people are left homeless when villages are ravaged.
Please spare what you can and have mercy on the widows and orphans of my parish.
Thank you,
Fr. Innocent Sunu
I spoke extensively with Fr. Kevin O’Hara, an Irish priest in Nigeria who helps Fr. Innocent, about the bravery and charity this man has shown for years.
He told me that Fr. Innocent is dealing with the bloodied bodies of our martyrs every week. He just needs our help to relieve some of the suffering of those left behind.
Please click “Donate Now” to support this heroic priest.
Your gift will help cover desperately needed food and medicine for a year, as well as drill boreholes so that people have access to clean water in their villages. Each well costs $1,200, so please give what you can.
What we donate will be collected by the Catholic Association in Ireland and then distributed to Fr. Innocent as he spends it, so that he can avoid becoming an even bigger target for kidnapping.
The people you are helping in Nigeria are the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and children of our Catholic martyrs of the 21st century.
Thank you for any help you can give.
