Summorum Pontificum 2017
Eternal font of sanctification and evangelization, the Traditional Latin Mass has became since Pope Benedict XVI’s motu proprio Summorum Pontificum 2007 the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite. Celebrated according to Saint Pope John XXIII’s 1962 edition of the Gregorian and Tridentine Missal, this liturgy gathers every year in Rome lay people, religious and priests for a 3-day pilgrimage culminating in a solemn procession through the streets of Rome and a High Mass at the Chair of St. Peter’s Basilica.
In occasion of the 10th anniversary of Summorum Pontificum, this Mass will be held at 11am, on Saturday 16, September 2017. In this very special day Maestro Aurelio Porfiri will direct a Mass he will have specially composed for the occasion.
The execution of this Mass is an unique opportunity to register what we hope will become a new masterpiece of Sacred Music. To fullfill this project we need 7.500 euro. A CD of the Mass will be of course send to every benefactor.
