Impact | Empower | Celebrate
In 2015, TOGETHER for the Long Run started with a mission to break down the barriers of disabilities, turn “can’ts” into “cans”, and bring the community together. The mission comes alive through a unified track meet in which differently-abled individuals are partnered with volunteers with a goal to celebrate all of our abilities throughout the event. Some activities that occur are a dance party, photo booth, face painting, yard games, and more.
Here is a testimonial from a Unified Track Coach: “Bringing Unified Track and Special Olympics together can offer hope for some that their track days do not have to end when high school does. The dancing, face painting and yard games all lend themselves to our student athletes not only bonding with each other but with members of other schools as well.” This is one reason why TOGETHER for the Long Run has a lasting impact.
This the 5th Annual TOGETHER for the Long Run, and we are on a Race to $5K! We need your help! We have a challenge grant of $5,000, and we need to raise $5,000 to unlock this money by February 29th. By donating to help us reach our goal, you will double your impact. This will get us closer to our ultimate goal of impacting over 650 people and raising $35,000.
TOGETHER for the Long Run will be held on May 9th, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Joe High School. We hope you can join us!
